Altec Lansing is a known brand when it comes to delivering quality audio so it comes to no surprise that they have Bluetooth speakers in the market. Compared to other speakers available in the market, Altec Lansing not only gives you quality sound but doubles down with two speakers to deliver wider audio anywhere.
Pairing Up the Speakers
The first thing you have to do is to setup the two speakers to act as one. It may need some patience on your end. The MF Button (the one at the top of each speaker) must be held down for about 5 seconds and wait for a beep. Do not release the press until you hear the ‘pairing’ phrase from each.
Once that is announced, release the button and wait. The speakers will eventually say ‘pairing successful’, each speaker announcing which is the left and right channel.
From there, you can now hook up your device via Bluetooth and enjoy music or even phone calls.
3.5 MM audio input also available
There may be instances when some devices would have issues pairing up via Bluetooth. In such scenarios, there is an alternative way and this is through the traditional plug-in means via 3.5 mm jacks. Though not through wireless means, the alternative still allows you to enjoy the quality audio.
Altec Lansing Geemel Specs
For the Altec Lansing Geemel (AL-SND02X-001), the device makes use of Bluetooth V 4.1 and supports HSP, HFP, A2 DP, and AVRCP. It has an operation range of up to 33 feet.
When used as a speaker phone, the device is good for up to 8 hours of use. As far as media playback and when unplugged, it has play time for up to 6 hours.
The unit can last up to 300 hours when placed on standby. As far as recharging the 500 mAh Polymer battery it comes with, a full charge would require 3 hours at best.
