DAYTIME TV QUEEN: Amid rumors that she’s transferring to another network, Julia Montes is crowned by ABS-CBN its new Daytime Drama Queen.
The title isn’t without basis. Julia’s running series, Doble Cara, has been ruling over the afternoon slot for months now, according to Kantar Media.
While the program admittedly started on a slow burn, it picked up wonderfully well in due time. Doble Kara has been on air for a year and a half without losing steam. The show closes on Feb. 10.
During a recent thanksgiving event, Julia explained she had no reason to bolt ABS-CBN. The rumors, she said, probably started when she signed a co-management contract with Erickson Raymundo’s Centerstage Entertainment. She remains a Star Magic artist in a sense.
That, she said, probably started the rumor. Otherwise, she is completely happy with the way her mother network has taken care of her and her career.
Julia hinted that after Doble Kara, network is fielding her in another exciting project. She said the details will be announced soon.
She added she would like to make more movies.

ONE OF THE BEST IN HER BATCH: We are among those who have followed Julia’s career from the time she co-starred with Kathryn Bernardo in Mara Clara. The young lady has blossomed into a fine actress with such a wide range that’s surprising for her young age.
In her league of young actresses, she is definitely leading where portraying mature characters is concerned. Credit goes to Julia herself, who is unafraid in taking on roles that are quite mature for her age. In Doble Kara for instance, she is a mother twice over to a young girl. (NESTOR CUARTERO)
