Tropical depression “Bising” weakened into a low-pressure area yesterday afternoon.
From maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph yesterday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said Bising weakened and had maximum sustained winds of 45 kph and gustiness of up to 55 kph before noon before eventually weakening into an LPA in the afternoon. It continues to move north-northwest slowly at 10 kph.
PAGASA estimated the location of the LPA at 690 kilometers east of Juban, Sorsogon around 4 p.m. yesterday.
Today, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Eastern Visayas while cloudy skies with light rains are expected over Batanes and Calayan Island in Cagayan.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be experienced over the rest of the country. (Ellalyn B. de Vera)
