Presidential son Sebastian “Baste” Duterte has appealed to his father President Rodrigo Duterte to stop scolding him in public.
“Pa, tama na please,” said Baste on his Facebook last February 7.
Baste then joked to his father about comedian Chokoleit whose viral video showed him kissing a guy. “Si chocolate na pud kasab-i, mas grabe to. Haha Lels.”
On Feb. 2, the President opened up his frustrations about his son’s highly publicized love affair with actress Ellen Adarna.
Baste then reminded his father that he has already broken up with Adarna last December. “Chill lang, Pa,” the presidential son said.
On Feb. 4, Duterte told his son to go home because his children were missing him.
“Nasasaktan ako para sa apo ko as I have not seen the guy (Baste). Umuwi ka na kasi iyong anak mo hindi ka na kilala,” the Chief Executive said.
The President clarified that he does not want his son to grow old as an irresponsible father to his kids.
“Who am I to criticize? Ang sinabi ko lang kayong mga lalaki — hindi lang ang anak ko . . . Kasi marami ditong mga lalaki, mga ul*l. Mag anak ng tatlo, apat tapos iiwanan ang asawa at magsama sa ibang babae,” Duterte said, as reported by ABS-CBN.
Baste is the third and youngest son of President Duterte by ex-wife Elizabeth Zimmerman.
His siblings are eldest brother Paolo, vice mayor of Davao City, and lawyer Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio, mayor of the same city.
On Feb. 6, the President scolded again his son for allegedly not giving enough financial support to his children.
“Yang anak kong si Baste na tatay, P***** I**** Baste iyan asan ka?” the President said on live television.
Baste is still in a relationship with long-time girlfriend Kate Necesario, a fashion model. They have a two-year-old son Yair. He has another child by his former girlfriend.
