Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) found Thursday night some P100-million worth of suspected shabu inside an abandoned vehicle in Quezon City.
Reports said PDEA agents discovered at about 10 p.m. some 20 kilos of shabu wrapped in foil and paper hidden in two five-gallon water containers and covered with a mat in the trunk of a Mitsubishi Lancer (WPB-418) parked on Tanghali Street, Barangay San Jose, Quezon City.
Police learned that the vehicle had been parked in the area for over three days.
PDEA agents went to the area and inspected the car after receiving a tip from an unidentified informant.
Barangay officials said the car owner is not a resident of the village.
Manny Galang, chairman of the barangay committee on illegal drugs, said that the vehicle was probably abandoned in their area after its occupants sensed that PDEA agents were coming to the area.
Director Ismael Fajardo of the PDEA Special Enforcement Service said they closely watched the vehicle from strategic positions but no one came to recover it.
PDEA agents went to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to identify the car owner. (CHITO A. CHAVEZ)
