CARCAR CITY, Cebu – The provincial government of Cebu will provide financial assistance and ensure that justice will be served to the four-month-old baby who was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a 40-year-old man here recently.
Cebu Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale, an official of the Provincial Women and Children’s Council and a staunch advocate of women and children’s rights, said that the provincial government will help the family attain justice by providing legal assistance in the statutory rape and kidnapping cases filed by the police against the suspect Jonathan Marfe.
PO3 Vivian Tamayo of the Women and Children Protection Desk here said the cases were filed at the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor’s Office and are now pending with the Cebu Regional Trial Court Branches 6 and 20.
Magpale said the provincial government will shoulder the hospital bills of the victim.
She said she will ask Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III to help the victim’s family fix their house.
