Citing the need to monitor the progress of the reclamation projects in Manila Bay, Mayor Joseph Estrada expressed his intention to seek reelection in 2019.
The 79-year-old Estrada said he has decided to run again because he needs more time to realize his vision of bringing back Manila’s “old glory” through the three big-ticket reclamation projects that are underway in Manila Bay, particularly the proposed New Manila Bay International Community of UAA Kinming Group Development Corp.
“Baka talagang mapilitan tayong mangandidato ulit…kaya kailangan makita kong matapos ‘yun kung ano ang ating nagawa,” Estrada said.
“Gusto kong maibalik ang old glory ng Manila, ‘yung ‘Pearl of the Orient’. Hindi ko pa makuha, e, Kulang ang time, panahon,” said Estrada who is now on his second term as Manila’s chief executive. (Jaimie Rose Aberia)
