“I wrote something about an experience where I felt disrespected. This brought about so many emails, and DMs (direct messages), and comments about people having negative experiences. Not only about disrespect but also about their safety on public transport.
“I feel like maybe it’s a possibility that so many bad things happen to girls because we have some kind of image where we can’t really defend ourselves. Probably because physically, we’re just small.”
“The cans were actually given to me as an apology gesture by said person in said incident.
“And I think it will be really useful in a cause that’s bigger than what could have been just an embarrassing incident for me.
“I hope those girls tomorrow will feel more able and empowered to protect themselves,” pagtapos pa ni Rhian Ramos.
