9 p.m. – Mighty Sports-PH vs Egypt
DUBAI – While former La Salle ace Jeron Teng is almost certain to join the PBA drafting this October, ex-Ateneo star Kiefer Ravena is still weighing his options whether to play in the PBA or in the NBA Developmental League.
“It all depends in my D-League training,” said Ravena as he took his early breakfast along with assistant coach TY Tang. “I’m not yet so sure. I will know it after my training camp.”
The 6-foot Ravena is taking a break from his training with the Texas Legends in the NBA D-League to suit up for Mighty Sports-Philippines which is competing in the Dubai International Basketball Tournament for the first time.
“The management of Mighty Sports has been a friend from so long so I’m back to play for them once again,” said Ravena who is expected to play a key role Mighty Sports’ bid for a second international title.
The 6-foot-3 Teng, on the other hand, has made it known his readiness to play in the PBA even to a team not even under the umbrella of San Miguel Corp. as long as he can play.
“Kahit kanino I’m willing to play basta bigyan ako ng chance to play,” said the soft-spoken Teng.
Are the two ripe to bring their act to the pro league?
No less than University of the Philippines coach Bo Perasol, who is the head of the Mighty Sports delegation, confirmed the readiness of two amateur stars.
“I handled Kief at Ateneo, talagang nag-improved ang shooting range niya, ganun din si Jeron,” said Perasol.
