BACK AND BETTER: After having rested a while away from the teleserye beat, Denise Laurel is pumped up to play another dream role.
It is that of a woman obsessed in The Better Half, described ABS-CBN as a psychological thriller.
Denise welcomes the opportunity to play really challenging roles from the time she staged a comeback. Her roles are becoming more insane by the day.
‘I like playing women with psychological disorders. They are unique and they allow me to experiment,’’ she told a recent interview.

In “The Better Half’s” pilot episode, viewers were introduced to Camille (Shaina Magdayao), the woman Rafael (JC De Vera) saved from committing suicide as she searched for her lost husband Marco (Carlo Aquino).
Marco, suffering from amnesia after a plane crash, is already living on an island with Bianca (Denise Laurel), who pretends to be his wife.
Conflict heightens when Marco tries to get back his old life with Camille to the consternation of Bianca.
The series is directed by Jeffrey Jeturian and produced by the team behind hit shows “Be Careful With My Heart,” “Dream Dad,” and “Ningning.”
A constant follower of The Better Half says she feels like she’s watching a movie each time an episode unfolds.
