After solidifying its entry in the broadband business offering fiber in the air technology with speeds of up to 700Mbps, NOW Corporation has once again established itself as a reliable IT service provider — and this time no less than the Supreme Court of the Philippines, slowly establishing its footprint in the government sector.
The listed company this week won a Php57.53 million contract from the Supreme Court that entails, among others, installing and providing email services to 7,000 users, said Kristian Pura, NOW’s business development and strategy chief.
“We are very pleased with this development,” Pura said. “The project allows NOW Corp. to maintain its lead as a top integrator of IT and Communications firm in the country.”
The Supreme Court’s bids and awards committee for goods and services awarded the contract on February 20, 2017 for the installation of the email system at the judiciary.
NOW will undertake the project together with its venture partner, Accent Micro Technologies, Inc., and will utilize the Integrated Business Machine (IBM) Collaboration Solutions Portfolio. Apart from providing email services, the project will also include audio/video conferencing implementation set-up, system administration and end-user training, as well as technical support and maintenance services.
While this is not the first time that NOW will be undertaking a government project, this is NOW’s first with the Supreme Court. NOW Corp has been instrumental with the digital transformation of enterprises across industries including banking, insurance, retail, logistics and hospitality. “Utilizing technology in aid to improve government service is an important part of NOW Corp’s mission to continually provide top-notch services to its clients, whether it is e-mail, collaboration or cybersecurity solutions. And we are proud that no less than the Supreme Court will be part of this,” says Pura.
NOW is a Premier Business Partner of IBM, winning for two consecutive years its Top IBM Social Collaborations Award in 2014 and 2015. It launched last year its fiber in the air technology that has then been serving the needs of the corporate enterprise broadband market such as hotels, schools, BPOs, hospitals and real estate conglomerates.
