GET YOUR DAY OFF: Was he being mesmerized by her?
Ken Chan kept an adoring eye at lovely-as-a-muse Janine Gutierrez when they met media over lunch the day GMA announced they were going to be the new hosts of “Day Off.”
The weekly show, which is celebrating its 12th anniversary this year, has lined up more exciting features together with its new set of hosts.
“Day Off” rewards hardworking Filipinos with an opportunity to enjoy a day off with their loved ones as one of the hosts takes over his job.
Formerly hosted by Carmina Villaroel and Mike “Pekto” Nacua, it is by far the longest-running reality show of its kind on Philippine TV, an original from GMA News TV.

YOU MUST BE ADVENTUROUS: One of the criteria to be named host of “Day Off” is to possess an adventurous spirit.
Janine, always the prim and proper one just like her mother, Lotlot de Leon, mentioned in passing that skydiving is something she’d like to try in her lifetime. She quickly backed off, afraid that her producers might suddenly throw her one such stunt in a nearby episode.

FACE YOUR FEARS: As for Ken, last seen as a transgender in “Destiny Rose,” says he wants to face his fears.
The singer-actor said he was fond of scary stuff. ‘But, I’m actually also a little afraid. They told me they featured a gravedigger once. I’d like to try out that one.”
The two GMA talents have previously guested on the show as co-hosts.
Janine joined the crew during “Day Off’s” 11th anniversary special shot in Thailand last December.
Ken co-hosted the show’s Chinese new Year celebration earlier in February.
“Day Off” airs every Saturday, 6:15 p.m. on GMA News TV. (NESTOR CUARTERO)
