University of Santo Tomas (UST) regained its old fiery form as it crushed a helpless Adamson University, 25-13, 25-12, 25-9, yesterday in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City.
Still reeling from a heartbreaking four-set loss to the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons last week, the Tigresses quickly got back to work by shattering the Lady Falcon’s weak net defense and exposing their poor reception in just 68 minutes.
It was UST’s second win in five outings, still keeping them near the cellar.
Adamson, for its part, sank deeper at the bottom standings by absorbing its sixth consecutive loss in as many outings.
UST Coach Kungfu Reyes shuffled his stalwarts with everyone contributing a little of everything particularly in the service area, where the Tigresses walloped 14 aces against none from the Lady Falcons.
Later in the day, Far Eastern University scored six of the last seven points in the third set to turn back National University, 25-20, 25-13, 15-25, 25-20.
