Family history has much to do with the occurrence of heart attacks and strokes among people with psoriasis.
According to Reuters Health, people with psoriasis, a chronic inflammatory skin disease, are more likely to have heart attacks and strokes when they have a family history of cardiovascular problems. The news agency cites a Danish study.
Psoriasis wasn’t associated with higher risk of heart attacks or strokes when people with the skin condition didn’t have a family history of cardiovascular disease, the study found.
The study also showed that the combination of psoriasis and a family history of cardiac events like heart attacks and strokes pose a big threat to life.
