ILOILO CITY (PIA) – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth)-6 announced that benefit packages designed to support children with hearing, visual, mobility impairment and development disability will soon be available.
Dr. Bernadette Reynes, PhilHealth-6 Chief for Health Care Delivery Management Division, said the benefit package for children with disabilities (CWD) is now being developed to address part, if not all their health care needs, as a move in support to the Department of Health’s (DOH) expanded national program for disabled persons.
“As what our acting President and CEO Ramon Aristoza said ‘let us not allow these children to be deprived of opportunities, access to education, social and health services. Instead, we should give them our support and understanding. We have to treat them fairly and help them live a normal life,” she said.
