Fifteen foreigners engaged in online gambling, five of them are women, were arrested, when members of the police’s Anti-Cybercrime Group raided their office in a commercial building in Pasig City, a police official said.
Supt. Jay Guillermo, ACG spokesperson, said the operation also resulted in the arrest of a Filipino later identified as Russlebert Yuzon Villar.
He identified the arrested Chinese on-line gambling operators as Wu Haotao, Hu Ha, Li Jing, Fei Yang, Jiang Peng, Lin Peng, Li Jian, Zgang Xian Ji, Guo Han and Guo Ming Jie. The female Chinese who were collared were Wei Xue Ling, Xu Zhixia, Shi Yun, Gao Zi Zhuang, and Lian Ling Fang.
All those arrested are allegedly connected with the YD International Inc. which holds office at the 18th floor of the Belvedere Tower along San Miguel Avenue in Quezon City.
“This company is playing online games. This means that they are operating as an illegal online gambling,” said Guillermo. (Aaron B. Recuenco)
