Talent manager Cornelia Lee, fondly known as Tita Angge in showbiz, passed away last Thursday night, almost one year after she suffered a massive heart attack that left her in coma. She was 70.
This was confirmed by her daughter Imelda who told ABS-CBN that her mother died in her sleep in their residence in Antipolo.
“Thank you for all the prayers for my mother who fought for her life for one year. Praise God it was a peaceful sleep,” Imelda told ABS-CBN.
Her daughter said that a wake would be held at the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City starting March 3.
Tita Angge is the talent manager of Sylvia Sanchez, Mickey Ferriols, Smokey Manaloto, and Timmy Cruz.
In March 2016, Tita Angge was rushed to the hospital after she complained of chest pains while watching a movie in Greenhills.
Sanchez said then in an interview that Tita Angge was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital but doctors revived her after 15 minutes.
The condition of Tita Angge then left her comatose.
Sanchez, star of the popular Kapamilya teleserye “The Greatest Love,” said then that the talent manager was diabetic and had a heart ailment. Seven years ago, her manager also underwent angioplasty, she said.
Tita Angge was a movie fan who later appeared on television and movies before she became a talent manager.
She was also president of the fan clubs of the love teams of Susan Roces and Fernando Poe Jr., Ricky Belmonte and Rosemarie Sonora; and Vilma Santos and Edgar Mortiz.
Her film debut was for the movie “Continental Playboy,” directed by Pablo Santiago. She played a tourist in the movie that starred Helen Gamboa.
Other film credits include “Way Out in the Country,” “May Tampuhan Pa-minsan-minsan,” “Sitting in the Park,” “Pogi,” “Joaquin,” “Petrang Paminta,” “Servillano Zapata,” “Wrong to Be Born,” etc.
