Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo has been in love with biking since he was a little boy. Little did he know that it would soon become his ultimate sport in life.
Despite his hectic schedule as an actor and a dad, his love for mountain biking has never waned.
“All my free time from work is devoted to my sport biking.
“I remember always riding my bike when I was a kid. I always take my mountain bike and ride it in our neighborhood next to Timberland Sports and Nature Club in San Mateo, Rizal.
“I started with a BMX until I had a mountain bike. I’m now trying out road bikes. I simply love riding along mountainous terrains overlooking Metro Manila.
“At home, I have a stationary bike just in case it’s raining and you can’t bike outside.”
Biking gives Dennis that sense of freedom, especially when he’s on a trail where nature is abundant.
“I’m that sort of person who likes to be in tranquil place,” he says.
“As an actor, I’m busy the whole week taping, shooting, meeting different people. Biking takes me away from all that even for just one whole day.”
The benefits of biking, according to Dennis, are immeasurable.
“First of all, biking reduces the cause of air pollution. The more people who ride bikes, the less pollution we have in the air.
“Second, biking can get you to your destination faster. No more sitting in your car in the middle of traffic.
“Third and the most important is that you get to use all your muscles. Not just your legs, but your arms, back and core.
“In order to navigate your bike, you need to be fit especially your leg muscles.”
Dennis maintains: “Our legs are the most important because they help carry our weight as we grow old. The stronger the legs, the better we can stand and carry ourselves.”
Dennis will be seen in the remake of GMA-7’s 2004 telefantasya Mulawin. It will be retitled Mulawin Versus Ravena.
