Actress Danica Sotto and basketball star Marc Pingris renewed their marriage vows in a fairy-tale themed wedding in Tagaytay, one day after their 10th wedding anniversary last March 3.
Sotto, daughter of actor-musician Vic Sotto and actress Dina Bonnevie, greeted her husband on their anniversary.
“Happy 10th Anniversary Bebe!! I’m overwhelmed with joy because of God’s faithfulness. I know I do not deserve anything that I have right now but God is still good dahil binigay ka niya sa akin. I looooove you!! Excited na ko sa future! #10years #walangbibitiw,” said Sotto on Instagram.
Sotto captioned another photo: “Celebrating 10 years of marriage. Thank you dear God for your grace and faithfulness.
We are really nothing without you.”
Pingris, 35, of Star Hotshots basketball team, also greeted his wife on IG.
“Happy anniversary Be. First of all, I just want to say Congrats sa ating dalawa. Lalo sayo, dahil natiis mo ko ng 10 years. For the past 10 years I know that what we went through was not easy. Hindi talaga naging madali. We had our ups and downs, but we managed to make it, mainly because our God is the center of our relationship. Salamat sa pag mamahal mo sa akin na tunay gusto ko rin sabihin sayo na sorry sa mga nagawa ko na mali sa buhay i love you danica #10years #gandamoparintalaga #love,” the Filipino-French cager said.
Sotto and Pingris have two children Jean Michael and Anielle Micaela.
The renewal of wedding vows was held at Antonio’s Fine Dining in Tagaytay. At the celebration, the bride wore a wedding gown created by Trishka Puno while Pingris donned a navy blue suit by Carina Canlas.
Aside from the parents of the bride, among the celebrities who attended the wedding were Pauleen Luna, Oyo Sotto and wife Kristine Hermosa, Ciara Sotto, LJ Moreno, Doug Kramer and wife Cheska, Antoinette Taus, Francesca Litton, PBA superstar James Yap and partner Michela Cazzola, and Francis Zamora.
During an interview on “Powerhouse” program on GMA-7 in April 2014, the couple narrated what they have learned from each other as a couple.
Sotto said Pingris taught her to value and be contented with simple things. “Nung time na we were about to close my restaurant, umiyak ako nang sobra, tapos hindi man lang ako kino-console ni Marc. Sabi niya sa akin, ‘hindi mo pa nararanasan kung ano talaga ‘yung hirap,’ tsaka niya kinuwento ‘yung mga paghihirap niya dati. I was taken aback, and na-humble ako. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, because of his life, natuto akong i-appreciate kung ano ang meron ako.”
Pingris said that Sotto taught him how to spend money wisely.
“Hindi ko kasi naranasan na may daddy, so parang na-spoil ko na yata ‘yung anak namin. So sabi niya sa akin, ‘alam kong hindi ka nagkaroon ng ganyan, pero sana ipagamit mo muna nang maayos bago bumili ulit,” the basketball star said.
