Police have launched a manhunt operation against a group of university students who allegedly mauled an overseas Filipino worker to death over an altercation outside a bar in Quezon City last Saturday.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar said they are now looking for 10 young suspects in the killing of 28-year-old seaman Abigail Gino Basas outside a sports bar and restaurant on Scout Lascano St. in Barangay Sacred Heart early morning of Saturday.
Eleazar named the primary suspect as a one Frits Mohammed, while three others were identified as a certain Cyril Dada, Earl Grande, and one Jammel.
Eleazar said they identified four of the suspects through a witness who, like the group, is also a frequent customer of the bar. The witness claimed they were students of University of the East and National University in Sampaloc, Manila.
He said they have yet to name the other suspects, five of them are females.
The QCPD has obtained closed circuit television (CCTV) footages from the Perfect Spot Billiards Bar and Restaurant which showed the events before and after the alleged mauling. (Vanne Elaine P. Terrazola)
