The Bureau of Customs has formed a new team called the Bureau Action Team Against Smugglers that will run after smugglers and corrupt employees.
BATAS, according to Atty. Alvin Ebreo, Legal Service director and BATAS excutive director, replaces the Run After The Smugglers.
Unlike RATS, Ebreo said, BATAS has its own pool of lawyers – prosecution team, profiling team, and case build up team.
“Ngayon iisang opisina na lang, pinag-isa na. We have created a united front against smuggling and corruption in the bureau,” Ebreo said. (Betheena Kae Unite)
