Filipinos believe that most women in Philippine society are on equal footing with their male counterparts, according to Pulse Asia survey released in time for International Women’s Day yesterday.
In the nationwide survey conducted last December 6-11 among 1,200 respondents, 41 percent said most women in the country are not disadvantaged.
Fifty and 48 percent in Metro Manila and Mindanao, respectively, said most women are not disadvantaged, compared to the rest of Luzon and Visayas with 35 percent and 37 percent.
On the other hand, about three in 10 Filipinos believe that there is gender inequality in the country, with women being at a disadvantage. (Ellalyn V. Ruiz)
