The Eastern Police District (EPD) gathered yesterday its most attractive female police officers to search for the best representative to the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Ganda Pulis 2017 beauty pageant.
Officials did not disclose yet the names of those who took a chance on the first female cops’ beauty contest but said the right candidate will definitely be chosen before the weekend to represent the PAMAMARISAN cops (Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina and San Juan) on Monday’s audition at the National headquarters of the PNP in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
The PNP said ‘Ganda Pulis 2017’ was meant to strengthen public advocacy on issues concerning women and to highlight the participation of women on leadership roles and social responsibility.
The contest is open to all female PNP officers who are at least two years in the service and physically fit without pending criminal or administrative cases.
The PNP has set no age limit for its “Ganda Pulis 2017” hopefuls.
The office of the directorial staff has set the criteria for judging as follows: Ganda sa Paningin, 40 percent; Ganda ng kalooban, 25 percent; Talentado, 20 percent; and Ganda sa sarili or confidence, 15 percent.
There will be no swimsuit competition for the female cops but as in any other beauty pageant, the PNP contest will also include an evening gown competition and a talent portion.
The grand winner will receive P25,000 and will represent the PNP in various activities.
Three PNP officers who previously won pageants were invited to judge Ganda Pulis 2017. They are PO2 DonMcgyver Cochico, model and first runner-up 2015 Misters pageant; Police Inspector Sofia Lauren Deliu, Miss Philippines-Earth 2015 finalist; and Mr. International 2014 – PO2 Mariano ‘Neil Perez’ Flormata Jr.
The coronation night will be held at Camp Crame on March 28.
