Two-hundred recovering drug addicts are currently undergoing a training program being conducted by the Villar Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance Farm School in Bacoor City, Cavite, to help them move forward to a productive life after rehabilitation.
Sen. Cynthia A. Villar recently led the opening of the Sagip Bukas: A Drug Rehabilitation Training Program that has 100 drug surrenderers from Las Piñas City, 50 from Parañaque City, and 50 from Cavite who were able to finish at least three sessions of values formation in their barangays as participants.
“As (they) transition from addiction to recovery, we are offering this training program that will help them move forward to a productive life and not go back to their addictive ways,” said Villar.
Villar has partnered with the office of the Mayor of Las Piñas City, office of the Mayor of Parañaque City, office of the Mayor of Bacoor City, Las Piñas General Hospital, Las Piñas City Health Office, Philippine National Police, and Las Piñas Hall of Justice, among others, to implement the program.
