President Duterte said there is no Cabinet position for whistleblower and supporter Sandra Cam just yet.
Cam is in the limelight after she reportedly demanded for special treatment while she was at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport last month as she was about to get a Cabinet position in three months.
According to Duterte, the Cabinet is already full but she is willing to give Cam work if she asks for it after she helped him during the campaign period last year.
“She helped me during the election. Tutulungan ko siya. Utang na loob ‘yan, eh,” he said in an ambush interview in Baguio City Saturday.
“Wala pa. Magpatay pa tayo ng Cabinet bago…kumpleto na ‘yan, eh,” Duterte added.
Duterte assured that she will give Cam work if she will ask for it.
Cam allegedly had an outburst at the NAIA last February 16 after she did not get the special treatment she was expecting and because at least 20 airport employees did not recognize her and know why she was at the Very Important Person Lounge.
Cam reportedly lashed out and cursed at an airport employee, dropping the name of Special Assistant to the President Bong Go, and saying that she is going to be appointed by the President to a government post in three months.
Duterte said he has heard of the incident but said he would just let the public judge Cam’s behavior.
Cam denied about boasting a coming Cabinet position and while she remembed raising her voice, she said she could not recall if she cussed the airport employee. (Argyll Cyrus B. Geducos)
