A luxury vehicle given to President Duterte will soon be up for sale in a public auction.
The President revealed that he has rejected the use of a Mercedes Benz sedan and decided to sell it to interested buyers.
“Nagbigay sa akin Mercedes Benz, totoo ‘yon. Punta ka sa PSG, nandiyan sa compound,” the President said during the PDP-Laban assembly in Pasay City last Sunday night.
“Nagmamagandang-loob, sabi ko okay. Hindi ko tinatanggap, lagay ko lang diyan. Interesado ang sinong taxpayer, bilin mo sa gobyerno, ipagbili ko. Mercedes Benz,” he added.
The former Mayor of Davao City explained that he prefers to ride his old pickup instead of a sedan in his trips outside Malacañang.
“Hindi ako sumasakay ng kotse. Kayong taga-Davao alam ninyo ‘yan 1988 pickup lang ako. Hanggang ngayon sa Davao, pickup lang ako,” he said.
