Joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) raided a shabu laboratory capable of producing around P1-billion worth of shabu in a month in Cainta, Rizal.
The raiding team found various chemicals, machines and apparatus needed to manufacture shabu inside an abandoned house in Barangay San Isidro.
Acting on an informants’ tip, the Cainta police force, SWAT, and PDEA barged inside the two-storey house located at Amadeo corner Alfonso streets inside Vista Verde Executive Village at past 8 p.m.
Members of the raiding team noted that the chemicals and apparatus discovered inside the abandoned house are the usual things used to produce around 50 to 100 kilograms of shabu in one week that could be worth up to P250 million a week.
Cainta Police chief Superintendent Elpidio Ramirez said that the owner which had his house rented informed the police of the suspicious looking characters occupying the place.
PDEA Deputy Director General Ricardo Quinto said the individuals renting the house were Chinese and Korean looking men.
Authorities are conducting a manhunt operation for the apprehension of the suspects. (CHITO A. CHAVEZ)
