The body of a Chinese national, who was gunned down by unidentified men inside his SUV in Parañaque City last Tuesday, remains unclaimed at a funeral parlor in Las Piñas, making it hard for investigators to locate his relatives, police said yesterday.
Probers are waiting for the family of the victim, Ben Chua, 42, of Dasmariñas St., Binondo, to get his body from the People’s Funeral homes in Las Piñas City.
SPO2 Israel Perez, case investigator, said they have sent a copy of the spot report and Chua’s picture to the Chinese Embassy for them to contact the victim’s relatives.
Investigators also sent a verification request to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to confirm if Chua is indeed the owner of the Toyota RAV-8 (XRK-301) he was driving at the time of the attack.
Last Tuesday night, Chua was driving the Toyota RAV-8 along Pacific Avenue in Barangay Don Galo when the occupants of a Toyota Innova and white van, both had no plate numbers, shot him. (Martin A. Sadongdong)
