More multiple murder cases were filed yesterday before the Office of the Ombudsman against the same group of policemen who conducted the bloody anti-drugs operation in Payatas, Quezon City, in August last year.
Two weeks ago, the lone survivor in the alleged massacre, Efren Murillo, filed the same complaint against the same respondents identified as Senior Inspector Emil Garcia, PO3 Allan Formilleza, PO1 James Aggarao and PO1 Melchor Navisaga of Quezon City Police Batasan Hills Station.
They were also charged with robbery, planting of evidence and grave misconduct.
The latest complaints were filed by relatives of three of the four victims who were slain during the raid, namely Marcelo Daa, Jr., Jessie Cule and Raffy Gabo.
The complainants, Marilyn Malimban, Maria Belen Daa and Lydia Gabo virtually corroborated the allegations of Murillo that the four men were shot dead when they refused to admit they were into drugs.
“The respondents were forcing the victims to admit that they were user or pushers of illegal drugs. When they denied and refused to confess. they were shot dead,” they said in a joint 28-page complaint affidavit.
They said the suspects planted guns and packets of illegal drugs shabu to make it appear that the victims were slain when they resisted arrest resulting in a firefight.
Also impleaded in the case were alleged police informers who led the respondents to the shanty of Daa where the accused nabbed the victims and killed.
They were identified as Lea Bercelona, Lorie Barcelona Richard Rinon , Mary Joy Ralo and one alias “Manok,” who allegedly ran away with the victims’ jewelry and other valuables. (JUN RAMIREZ)
