Two armed men robbed a convenience store in Tondo, Manila, early yesterday morning.
Police said the incident happened inside the branch of Mini Stop convenience store at the corner of Mayhaligue and Sanchez Streets in Tondo at about 12:58 a.m.
Store crew Jomel Umali, 33, told probers that one of the robbers entered their store and posed as a customer. He said that the man went first to the beverage section and picked one bottle of energy drink before proceeding to the cashier’s area.
The armed man then declared the heist and threatened him by saying, “Alam mo na? Wag ka ng papalag, babarilin kita!”
Out of fear, Umali opened the cash register.
Moments after, the armed man’s cohort ordered Umali’s co-worker in the storage room to sit down in the comfort room.
The robbers fled, taking with them the store’s P5,000 earnings. (Analou de Vera)
