Armed Forces of the Philippines spokesman Air Force Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla said that they are ready to conduct patrols in Benham Rise.
Padilla said they are just waiting instructions from the government when they will start patrolling Benham Rise.
“We are just awaiting the green light from government for the AFP to start the patrol and mapping survey at Benham Rise,” Padilla said.
Padilla said the AFP is very much ready to guard and patrol Benham Rise which is part of the country’s Exclusive Economic Zone.
Padilla said the AFP has the capability to conduct a mapping survey to check the area’s rich mineral resources.
The Philippine Navy will conduct the mapping survey while Philippine Air Force will hold an aerial survey.
