Former beauty queen-turned-actress Melanie Marquez has wished that she could play the role of a crazy woman in the future.
“Yung mabigat na role? Luka-luka. Mahihirapan ako kung drama,” said Marquez as she laughed when asked about her dream role during an interview on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” on ABS-CBN.
Marquez, who appears in the popular Kapamilya teleserye “A Love To Last,” said that she wants millennials to know her as a true friend who never gets old.
“Isang tapat na kaibigan. Hindi tumatanda sa ugali, sa puso at sa diwa. Laging positive thinker,” said Marquez, when asked how she would introduce herself to the present generation.
The former Miss International said that she encourages her daughter Michelle Dee to compete in Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant soon.
“She has the looks. She has the x-factor, she has the height (5’11) and she’s lady like unlike me who is rebellious,” said Marquez.
She also gave successful tips to her daughter who is now one of the popular newcomers in the fashion world.
“Kailangan nyang maging original. Wag syang maging copycat. Hindi ka sisikat kapag copycat ka,” Marquez said.
“Ang sikreto kasi ng fashion is you have to be comfortable within yourself. Kahit na ano ang suutin mo, basta comfortable ka, go for it,” she added.
On her children’s love affair, Marquez said that she could only pray for their happiness.
“Sa tutoo lang, it’s all up to my children. Hindi ako yung tipong makiki-alam. As long as your kids are happy at minamahal sila, I will always go for that kasi sa akin basta masaya, immaterial na ‘yung ibang bagay sa akin. Ang material na bagay hindi talaga importante sa akin,” Marquez said.
She also thanked the followers of “A Love to Last” which stars Bea Alonzo, Ian Veneracion, and Iza Calzado.
