Carlos Boozer and Jimmer Fredette are NBA journeymen who have been playing in the Chinese Basketball Association. Failing to sign up for the 2016-17 NBA season, all may not be lost.
The Los Angeles Clippers and the Miami Heat are reportedly among the teams considering Boozer and Fredette.
Fredette is coming off an MVP season with the Shanghai Sharks while Boozer was a factor for the Guangdong Southern Tigers. Among Boozer’s teammates include former NBA guard Donald Sloan.
Fredette is reportedly back in the United States and waiting for a call for a possible NBA stint, ESPN reported. Boozer’s case may be a bit complicated.
Boozer’s availability will depend on the performance of the Tigers. If Guangdong reaches the championship, he may not have enough time to return to the United States and hook up with an NBA team.
The 35-year-old forward is eligible to play in the NBA postseason but has to be signed by April 12 – the last day of the NBA regular season.
