All six representatives of the Philippines won medals in the 20th Singapore National Olympiad in Informatics last March 18.
Robin Yu from Xavier School led the Philippine team’s triumph, taking home a gold medal and placing fifth in the overall competition.
Another delegate from Xavier School, Andrew James Ting, and Farrell Eldrian Wu of MGC New Life Christian Academy, also emerged victorious among competitors around the globe, winning silver medals in the international contest.
Besides receiving gold and silver medals, Yu, Ting, and Wu will also be granted special consideration in admission into the National University of Singapore, which hosted the annual competition since 1998.
The Philippine group also bagged three bronze medals courtesy of Philippine Science High School students Franz Louis Cesista (Eastern Visayas campus) and Ron Mikhael C. Surara (Bicol Region campus) and Manila Science High school representative Kim Bryann Tuico. (Noreen Jazul)
