Comedy Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas was named best female actor at the 7th Queens World Film Festival in New York, USA last Sunday night (Monday in the Philippines).
Delas Alas who played an aging prostitute in the film thanked those who supported her.
“Napakagandang umaga sa inyong lahat … nagising ako at ito ang balita .. maraming salamat QUEENS WORLD INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL AWARDS PARA SA PAG KAPANALO KO … pag kagising ko AT sinabi ni gerald natulala ako sabay iyak sabay luhod at umiyak sa pasasalamat AT nanginginig pa katawan ko ( buti wala ako sa nyc kasi baka mahimatay ako d ko din makuha ang award hahah comedy talaga),” said delas Alas on Instagram.
“Nais kong ibahagi ang award na ito sa aming producer BG PRODUCTIONS tita baby salamat, FERDY LAPuZ, DENNIS EVANGELISTA, at sa lahat ng crew and staff ng BG PRODUCTIONS … sa AMING NAPAKABAIT NA DIREKTOR LOUI IGNACIO,” she said.
“I want to dedicate this award sa mga anak ko SANCHO SHAUN SOPHIA ANDREI.. at kay darl GERALD.. kayo ang inspirasyon kong maging mahusay sa trabaho ko… sa aking pamilya kay MOTHER JUSTA … salamat mama,” the comedienne said.
The four other nominees for the Best Female Actor Narrative Feature category were Karin Hanczewsk for Lotte, Amy Redford for Hate Crime and Dorothea Hagena in Mann Im Spagat – Pace, Cowboy, Pace.
Louie Ignacio was nominated for Best Director Narrative Feature for the same film.
In September 2016, the indie film won the special jury prize at 12th Eurasia International Film Festival held in Kazakhstan.
