TACLOBAN CITY – Members of the Criminal Detection Group (CIDG) and PNP Maritime Police who are facing murder charges for the killing of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Jr. and inmate Raul Yap are now detained at the CIDG-8 office.
This after judge Carlos Arguelles issued a commitment order for the temporary detention of former chief of CIDG-8 Supt. Marvin Marcos, Supt. Santi Noel Matira, Chief Insp. Leo Larraga, Senior Insp. Fritz Blanco, Senior Insp. Doegracias Diaz, Insp Lucredito Candilosas, SPO4 Melvin Cayubit, PO3 Johnny Ibañez, SPO4 Juanito Duarte, PO1 Lloyd Ortigueza, PO1 Bhernard Orpilla, SPO2 Benjamin Dacallos, PO3 Norman Abellanosa, PO1 Jerlans Cabiyaan, PO1 Clixto Canillas Jr., SPO1 Mark Christian Cadilo, PO2 John Ruel Doculan and PO2 Jaime Dacsal.
Marcos, who was then the head of the CIDG-Eastern Visayas, figured in a controversy over the operation in Baybay City on Nov. 5 last year wherein Espinosa and Yap were killed after allegedly trying to fight off the cops who were serving a search warrant to get the gun allegedly owned by the mayor inside the jail.
Espinosa was then detained in jail on charges of illegal drugs and illegal possession of firearms.
