A transport group is planning to stage another strike to protest the government’s proposal to phase out jeepneys older than 14 years.
No dates have been set for the three-day transport strike but Jun Magno, Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operators ng Pilipinas Genuine Organization President, said yesterday that they will launch the strike once their members and other groups have agreed to join the protest.
“We will announce it one day before the date after we consolidate the groups to join us,” Magno said.
The strike, Magno said, is in protest of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board’s failure to hear the affected jeepney drivers and operators’ concerns on the modernization program. (Vanne Elaine P. Terrazola)
