For the fourth time, Filipino child star Balang charmed American television personality Ellen DeGeneres when he showed his latest dance moves during an appearance on the popular variety show.
“In the two years we’ve known our next guest, he’s gone from being a 6-year-old dancing boy from the Philippines to an 8-year-old international star,” said DeGeneres as she introduced the chubby kid.
Balang later grooved to Ed Sheeran’s No. 1 song “Shape of You.”
In her conversation with DeGeneres, Balang, who is John Philip Bughaw in real life, said that he is now a licensed zumba instructor.
“Nung pumunta ako dito sa ‘Ellen’ nung sinabi ko gusto kong maging instructor, tapos pinapunta ako sa convention, tapos binigyan ako ng lisensya,” the child star said.
The audience cheered when they heard the good news that Balang is now a licensed dance instructor.
Asked if he was excited to back in Los Angeles, California, Balang said: “Yes! Dahil gusto po kitang makita!”
“That’s really sweet! I’m excited to see you, too!” said DeGeneres.
The television host also asked him if he was still using the stationary bike she gave him the last time he visited the show.
“Yes! Tapos sabi ko kay mama…mama pumayat na ba ako? Tapos sabi ni mama, ‘No pa! Sige pa, pagpatuloy mo pa yan!’
“Balang said.
When asked how long does he stay in the bike, Balang said: “Three minutes.”
Balang, of Cavite, initially attracted attention from DeGeneres who saw him dancing to “Bang! Bang!” by Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj in a video that went viral.
In May 2015, Ellen then invited Balang over to the US and danced to the upbeat song.
His second Ellen appearance happened in November 2015. This time, Balang danced to “Single Ladies” by Beyonce and Silento’s “Nae Nae.” Balang appeared in “Ellen” for the third time in February 2016.
