Former 2013 Miss Universe 3rd runner-up Ariella Arida has said that she would love to venture into acting someday aside from co-hosting “Wowowin” on GMA 7.
“Grateful na ako kay Kuya Willie (Revillame) dahil binigyan na n’ya ako ng chance sa ‘Wowowin.’ Pero hopefully, I want to try acting din,” said Arida, during an exclusive interview at the press presentation of 2017 Binibi-ning Pilipinas candidates at the Novotel in Cubao, Quezon City last Wednesday.
Arida, who has been in the popular noontime show for almost one year now, has said that she enjoys meeting the masa who watch their show on weekdays.
“Super enjoy ako. Almost one year na ako sa show kasi hindi boring. Everyday may bago. Everyday iba’t ibang tao ’yung nakakasama ko. Masayang makasama ang mga masa kasi sobrang saya nila,” she said.
Asked about the lessons learned in the show, the former beauty queen said: “Madami akong natutunan especially about life. May mga na-e-encounter akong tao at nalalaman ko na lang may ganung palang klaseng problema at ang laman lang ng bulsa nila is R50. They will do everything para sa game show dahil ganun kahirap ‘yung buhay nila. So mas na-a-appreciate ko ang buhay ko ngayon small or big blessings.”
The 28-year-old television host also said that she was surprised that people approach her asking for donations or jackets.
“May ganun nung umpisa sabi ng parents ko sa Laguna. Sila ’yung parang nakaka-encounter nun kasi sila ’yung parang kumakatok talaga sa bahay may dalang sulat humihingi ng donasyon,” she said.
“Kahit nung nanalo ako sa Miss Universe, feeling ng ibang tao parang ang laki ng napanalunan ko so may lumalapit talaga nun,”
