A coffee-table book on ordinary employees doing ordinary jobs – with a heart – highlighted Philippine Airlines’ 76th anniversary celebration last March 15 at PAL’s headquarters in Pasay City.
“Stories from the Heart” is a compilation of more than 50 heartwarming tales of employees who displayed five service attributes that are expected of PAL staff when engaging the customers – maalaga (caring & hospitable), magaling (efficient and skillful), malambing (warm and friendly), magalang (polite).
The book, edited by renowned Palanca awardee Butch Dalisay, banks on PAL’s brand philosophy Heart of the Filipino that was launched last year.
During the celebration, the book was presented by PAL Pres. Jaime J. Bautista to Chairman Dr. Lucio C. Tan who in turn thanked the employees for their hard work that enabled the airline to remain profitable since 2014.
“I want to personally thank each and every PAL employee. Your hard work has made PAL strong and growing. PAL’s profitability has been sustained,” said Dr. Tan.
Internal anniversary activities for PAL staff include a fun run, service awards, livelihood business seminars, flea market, sportsfest and more.
Bautista added, “In marking our 76th anniversary, we celebrate the stories that we have been part of – stories of adventure, hope, courage, pride, promise. With our line-up of initiatives for our passengers, we make people all over the world experience the unique brand of service that can only come from the Heart of the Filipino.”
Other anniversary activities include a global seat sale, mall tour, new corporate give-aways, beach travel freebies on select flights, treats for travel agents and more.
