They say sleep is for the weak. Agree or disagree?
But, what can a tired person do to fend off sleepiness in times of need?
According to Alec Baldwin’s character in his famous cameo in Glengarry Glen Ross, “coffee is for closers.”
Caffeine is a stimulant; it’s also a good one too. The benefits of caffeine in a cup of coffee are noteworthy.
Besides boosting the user’s energy levels, a cup of coffee can lower risks of getting Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Type II Diabetes. A cup of coffee also contains essential nutrients for the body like Riboflavin and Pantothenic Acid.
Aaron E. Carroll, professor at the Indiana University School of Medicine (who also writes for the New York Times), had looked at some satisfying results about coffee.
“What I found – and there is a lot of research on coffee, a shockingly large number of studies – is that in almost every disease state or health problem you can think of, the evidence wasn’t showing that coffee was harmful or even that it was benign but that it was actually associated with significant benefits,” Carroll told CBC’s Information Radio.
Coffee in the early stages of a day can battle sleepiness in the later hours of work in the afternoon.
However, drinking too much will cause complications. Too much caffeine can cause restlessness, irregular heartbeat, and it can also interfere with your sleeping pattern at night.
So it is best to limit your cups to four drinks a day and to refrain from drinking coffee in the late afternoon.
