Three thousand Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) certified instructors are raring and ready to handle the two-month 2017 SMART/MVP Sports Foundation Taekwondo Summer Class nationwide.
The most popular martial art sport in the country today, taekwondo is one of the best activities for the kids this summer. The sport instills discipline and respect in an environment that is fun and friendly.
Lessons in the summer class include the two basic Poomsae (forms) moves and five basic self-defense tactics.
The beginner or white belt program introduces young participants to the Korean martial art including basic commands, blocks, stances and kicks. After about 20 to 24 sessions, beginners will be ready to take promotion test for yellow belt.
For colored belts, basic sparring shall be taught in the program. For the promotion test at the end of the summer program, sparring will already be included.
The Taekwondo Summer Class will be held in Metro Manila, Regions 1 to 12, CAR, ARMM, CARAGA, PNPA and AFP.
PTA is the national sports association (NSA) recognized by the Philippine Olympic Committee, the Philippine Sports Commission, the Department of Education, the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines. It is also affiliated with the World Taekwondo Federation, Asian Taekwondo Union, ASEAN Taekwondo Federation and the International Olympic Committee.
