7:30 p.m. – Global vs JDT
Global tries to avenge its lopsided loss to Malaysian powerhouse Johor Darul Ta’zim when the two sides meet again tonight in the AFC Cup at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The United Football League double winner is expected to play without top striker Misagh Bahadoran as it attempts to atone for a 4-0 defeat to JDT several weeks ago in Johor Bahru, Malaysia in the match set at 7:30 p.m.
JDT holds the group lead with seven points, one clear of Global which won its first two matches.
Global is three off Beoungket Angkor for second place in the group. The top two teams advance to the round of 16.
Bahadoran sustained a knee injury two weeks ago during the Philippine Azkals’ goalless draw with Malaysia in a friendly, prompting him to miss the national side’s 4-1 win over Nepal in the Asian Cup qualifiers.
With Bahadoran out, Global hopes to get scoring chances from Paul Mulders, Dennis Villanueva and Pika Minegishi.
