The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said a portion of Taft Avenue in Manila City will be closed to vehicular traffic to give way to a scheduled cable replacement during the long Holy Week.
In its advisory, the MMDA said second lane of Taft Avenue near Pedro Gil Station will be partially closed for three days: April 13, 14, and 15, from 10 am to 6 am for the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 1’s replacement of power cables.
Meanwhile, the MMDA also issued a traffic rerouting plan for the 30th Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit to be held on April 26-29.
The MMDA said that rerouting will be implemented along Sen. W. Diokno Blvd., Jalandoni St., V. Sotto St., Bukaneg St., and A. Dela Rama St.
This early, the agency is warning the motorists of occasional traffic disruption along Pasay Road and Makati Avenue and advised them to take alternative routes.
The four-day summit will take place within the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex in Pasay City.
