Troops from the Army 6th Infantry Division clashed anew with members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters in Mamasapano, Maguindanao Wednesday, resulting in the recovery of improvised explosive devices and other materials.
Army Capt. Ervin Encinas, spokesman of the 6th Infantry Division, said troops from the 40th Infantry Battalion and 63rd Division Reconnaissance Company were scouring the area for the gunmen of Corporal Tamano U. Macadatar of the 524th Engineer Construction Battalion who was killed last April 4 when they chanced upon the BIFF under Commanders Marrox and Muslimen.
A firefight lasting for 15 minutes ensued before the gunmen escaped. (Francis T. Wakefield)
