A 10-year-old boy allegedly took his own life after his aunt told him that she would post on social media his photo showing him wearing makeup in Tondo, Manila.
Jorge Miano did not reach the hospital alive after her mother found him hanging inside his room in their residence on Dagupan Extension in Tondo, Monday afternoon.
The victim’s mother, Charie, 36, told probers that prior to the incident, she had fun with her son, together with the boy’s aunt only identified as “Eve”.
Eve reportedly put makeup on Jorge’s face and took some pictures of him using her mobile phone.
Jorge was reportedly dismayed after his aunt told him that she would post the picture on Facebook. He then locked himself in his room.
At about 1:20 p.m., Charie went to his son’s room to comfort him but he did not respond despite several knocks on the door.
When they forcibly opened the door, they discovered Jorge unconscious with a silk cloth looped around his neck, its end attached to a cradle.
Charie immediately detached the cloth from his son’s neck and tried to revive him but failed. They brought the boy to Ospital ng Tondo but he was declared dead on arrival.
Police are still investigating the incident. (Analou De Vera)
