CAMP GENERAL SIMEON OLA, Legazpi City – At least 10 kilos of high grade “shabu” with an estimated value of P50-million were recovered inside a parked vehicle by joint elements of local and national authorities here.
Combined forces of the Matnog Municipal Police Station (MPS), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Highway Patrol Group (HPG), Regional Public Safety Batallion (5RPSB) and Philippine Army made the discovery after checking on an abandoned Toyota Revo which has been parked since Tuesday inside the Matnog port in Sorsogon.
Chief Superintendent Melvin Ramon “Omar” Buenafe, Bicol Police regional director said the vehicle is said to be registered to a certain Ramil Luna of Malabon City.
“Nag-positive sa K9 ’yung sasakyan, pero may hinala pa rin na bomba o kaya droga. Hanggang sa buksan ’yung sasakyan at tumambang ang kilo-kilong shabu,” said Buenafe.
The confiscated drugs were immediately brought to the crime laboratory for verification were they later on learned that it was made of high-grade component. (Niño N. Luces)
