Singer Elha Nympha has said that she never expected to be the grand champion in the latest season of “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids” which wrapped up recently.
“Happy po ako na nakasama ako sa ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’ at nakapag perform ako kasi isa po itong napakalaking opportunity sa akin,” said Nympha during an interview on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” on ABS-CBN.
“Hindi naman po lagi na ako ang may time po. Meron naman pong ibang may break. Hindi po ako nag-e-expect eh. Kapag nanalo po ako, ok lang sa akin yun kapag natalo ako ok lang din naman sa akin din po,” the child star said.
In the just concluded “Your Face” final showdown, Nympha placed second to Aura Briguela.
Nympha said that the most challenging impersonation she did was that of Italian operatic tenor Luciano Pavarotti.
Asked if she wants classical music, Nympha said: “Opo pwede rin po. ’Yung magiging singer po ako tapos magiging opera singer.”
Nympha just turned 13 last April 16. In the show, Abunda gave Nympha a birthday cake.
“Kinakabahan na nga po ako eh. Kasi po nagma-mature na po ‘yung tao, nag-iiba na po ’yung body natin,” she said.
Nympha also said that she dreams of becoming a chef in the future.
“Gusto ko rin pong maging chef po. Paglaki ko kukunin ko ‘yung culinary arts. Kaya ko pong mag-luto ng self dishes po,” she said.
She also said that she does not have a crush these days.
“Wala po (akong crush). Dati po. Wag na yun,” said Nympha as she smiled.
Nympha blasted into the entertainment scene when she won “The Voice Kids” on ABS-CBN in 2015 Before she became a star, she and her family were selling banana cue for a living near the GMA 7 MRT station.
In March, Nympha impressed American television personality Steve Harvey when she sang during the first episode of the second season of “Little Big Shots.”
Nympha sang Sia’s “Chandelier” and got a standing ovation from the audience.
“Everyone on the set was blown away by Elha, she got a standing ovation! This is why I love this show,” said Harvey on twitter.
When asked if she would love to work abroad, the teen star said: “Half-half po kasi ayoko pong kalimutan ’yung Philippines. Pero pwede namang umuwi tapos babalik balik po,” Nympha said.
