With most wondering if Ronda Rousey will ever return to the UFC, a recent development may have doused all hope. The former UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion announced her engagement to long-time boyfriend Travis Browne after the latter proposed to her in New Zealand.
Both are now in the planning stages of their wedding, something Rousey hopes to arrange soon, TMZ Sports reported. These somehow brighten the dampened mood of the former champion following her last loss to reigning champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.
Returning more than a year after bowing to Holly Holm at UFC 193, Rousey lost lopsidedly to the “Lioness” in 48 seconds. “Rowdy” had previously mentioned that her UFC 207 fight was one of her last ones though critics believed it may as well be her final fight.
UFC president Dana White had already hinted back in January that he is not expecting Rousey to return. He believed Rousey would pursue an acting career but never mentioned the possibility of marriage.
Nevertheless, White mentioned via the NY Post that he was happy and that he was looking forward to the wedding. Check out the video below from TMZ Sports.
