With the participation of the rich and powerful, including a bevy of celebrities, Koronadal City is confident and ready to smash two existing marks in the Guinness World Records six days from now.
After months of meticulous preparations – not to mention putting up a multi-tiered security measures – Mayor Peter Miguel expects the city to become a “Motorcycle Haven” of the South when the three-day 23rd National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs Annual Convention begins on Friday.
“We will have a lot of VIP’s joining our bid to make it to Guinness, but we will not reveal their names for security reason,” said Miguel.
But the highlight of the convention presented by Kawasaki will be on Saturday as the city attempts to break the Most Engines Started Simultaneously and the Most Motorcycle Horns Sounded Simultaneously.
Miguel said the Guinness officials decided to scratch the Most Number of Motorcycle Parade after elevating the bar to as many as 22,000.
With the support of Kawasaki, Petron, BMW, Ducati, Suzuki, KTM, and Department of Tourism, Miguel expects 5,000 motorcycle enthusiasts to converge in the bustling city – all eager to feel and experience the first class hospitality not only of Koronadal City but nearby towns like Banga, Surallah, Lake Sebu, Tupi, Polomolok and Tantangan.
